The Register of the Zaporozhian Army of 1649 has been added
Until today, a comprehensive electronic database of the 1649 Zaporozhian Host Register was a significant gap in internet resources dedicated to Ukrainian history. However, this gap has been successfully filled with the publication of the first complete electronic version of the register. This register is an invaluable source for historians, genealogists, and anyone interested in the history of Ukraine.
The register contains records of 40,470 Cossacks, including detailed information about their surnames, first names, patronymics, nicknames, regiment, company, rank, and place of residence. The importance of this document lies in its structure, which varied for different regiments, and its methodology of formation. Initially, the registers were formed locally, then sent to the regiment's center, and later to the Hetman's residence in Chyhyryn, where they were consolidated into a single list.
The current version of the database (1.0.1, as of 05.01.2024) includes minor changes, particularly the updating of regiment names to modern orthography. Access to the full register in electronic format greatly simplifies the process of searching for specific names and can also be used for selecting names for newborns or searching for ancestors among the Cossacks.

This publication is a significant step forward in preserving and studying the historical heritage of Ukraine and opens new possibilities for a deeper understanding of our country's past.
