Lukian Moziria

? - ?

Biography:

Lukyan Mozyrya - military figure, Korsun colonel of the Zaporizhzhya Army. He was an active member of Khmelnytskyi.

Nothing is definitely known about Lukyan Mozyra's early years. With the beginning of the Khmelnytskyi region, he went over to the side of the rebels, took part in the Battle of Yellow Waters and the Battle of Korsun. At the end of June - in July 1648, he accompanied F. Veshniak to Warsaw, where he took part in sessions of the Diet, presenting the "Register of Injuries" inflicted on the Cossacks.

In 1649, after the death of S. Morozenka, he was appointed Korsun colonel. In the summer of 1651, he distinguished himself in the battle of Berestechko, managing to withdraw his regiment from the encirclement almost without loss. In July 1651, Khmelnytskyi sent Mozyrya to help A. Zhdanovich, who was defending against Ya. Radziwill's troops. In the second half of 1651, Lukyan Mozyrya was one of the organizers of the defense of Kyiv and White Church. Later, he went to Moscow with diplomatic assignments from the hetman.

Disagreeing with the terms of the Belotserki truce, Lukyan Mozyrya disrupted the conclusion of a new register in the Korsun regiment. Khmelnytsky, due to opposition to the implementation of the decisions of the Bilotserk Peace, dismissed Mozyra from his post. In response, Mozyrya, with the help of the senior officers of his and Bilotserki regiments, organized riots and the murder of the Bilotserki colonel Gromyka and the newly appointed Korsun colonel. He also took part in M. Hladky's speech.

He led one of the units formed in the Nizhyn area, which opposed the entry of Polish troops into Left Bank Ukraine. On the order of the hetman, General Osavul Demyan Lisovets suppressed the uprising, and Lukyan Mozyrya was executed.
