Biography:
Mykhailo Luchchenko is a Ukrainian military figure of the Hetmanship era, who held the post of General Osavul in 1648-1654 and 1657-1658.
According to Volodymyr Kryvoshea's version, Mykhailo Luchchenko belonged to the "ancient" Cossacks. Presumably, he served in the Chygyryn Register Regiment in the 1640s.
He was an active member of Khmelnytskyi region. From the summer of 1648, he held the position of general osavul together with Demko Mykhailovych. In April 1649, he participated in negotiations with the Moscow ambassador Hryhoriy Unkovskyi. In the Register of 1649, he was listed as the fourth.
Main events
- Headed the Osavul kurin, guarded the hetman and the government.
- In September 1654, he was replaced on the post by Vasyl Tomilenko.
- Appointed general osavul for the second time after the election of Ivan Vyhovskyi as hetman, held the position together with Ivan Kovalevskyi.
- Probably died during Pushkar's anti-Hetman uprising.
