Biography:

Semen Savych - colonel of the Kaniv regiment, registered Cossack. He was an active participant in the national liberation war led by Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.

At the beginning of the national liberation war of the Ukrainian people in 1648-57, Semyon Savych became a Kaniv colonel. He took part in numerous battles and campaigns of the Ukrainian army against Poland. In 1651, he led rear guard and mobilization for the Cossack army. Carried out important diplomatic assignments of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.

In August-November 1651, together with colonels Lukyan Mozyrei and Ivan Zolotarenko, he visited Moscow to conduct negotiations on the possibility of concluding a Ukrainian-Moscow union treaty.

In April 1654, he headed the Hetman's embassy in Bakhchisarai. He tried to convince Khan Islam-Girey III to continue the joint struggle against the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, despite the conclusion of the Pereyaslav Treaty of 1654 with the Moscow Tsar Oleksiy Mikhailovich.
