Kirovohrad Oblast archives online on portal
During the event held on March 29, 2024, at the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, a new electronic resource of the State Archive of Kirovohrad Oblast was introduced. This presentation was part of the integration into the "Interarchival Search Portal." Anatolii Khromov, the head of the State Archival Service of Ukraine, his deputy Oleksandr Lashko, as well as representatives of the Kirovohrad regional and local administration, including Yuriy Mykolaienko and Liliia Marenets, participated in the event.
The event emphasized the importance of digitizing archival materials and the necessity of providing open access to them via the internet. Anatolii Khromov highlighted the significance of this project for the development of the archival system and user convenience.
Thanks to the new resource, users now have access to over 300,000 scanned copies of documents from the Kirovohrad Archive, which will facilitate research in history and genealogy. This became possible after the successful integration of several Ukrainian archives into a single digital network, which has already proven effective with the integration of the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine in Lviv earlier in the year.
The Interarchival Search Portal, created with the support and initiative of Anatolii Khromov, becomes a key platform for digital access to Ukraine's archival resources, attracting more archival institutions to its network.
