Shot revival

The "Slain Revival" database, prepared by the roots.in.ua resource, will contain a list of Ukrainian artists and intellectuals of the 20th century who became victims of Stalinist repressions, were banned or forced to emigrate. Special attention will be paid to artists who were killed by the Soviet authorities.

This database is compiled from various sources and attempts to compile as complete a list of "Shot Revival" artists as possible. It will include information about their names, creative output, biographies and circumstances of repression.

The main purpose of the database is to preserve the cultural heritage of Ukraine and raise awareness of the crimes of the Soviet government. It will become an important tool for researchers, educators, and anyone interested in the history of Ukrainian culture and its artists who were repressed during the Stalinist terror period.
