Oath of the Myrhorod regiment of 1718

Planned to be added!

This database contains complete information about persons who took the oath in the Myrhorod regiment in 1718. The data are collected from archival documents of the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts (RGADA) and include 9,601 surnames of Mirgorod residents. This is an updated 2012 edition that takes into account new information accumulated in recent years.

The main sources of the database:

  • Fund 140, description 1, file 33: "Oaths of the Myrhorod regiment of clergy and laymen in loyalty to the heir to the prince, Pyotr Petrovich."
  • Fund 140, description 1, file 36: "Oaths of various Little Russian regiments of officers and Cossacks who were on the campaign in loyalty to the heir to Tsarevich Peter Petrovich."

This database is an important contribution to the understanding of the history of the Hetmanate and the social processes of the 18th century, which makes it a "fulcrum" for modern research, similar to the importance of the Register of 1649.
